That is, it pre-dates the Barton core with 512k cache. So, same speed as an equivalently clocked Thoroughbrd or the older Palomino for that matter. A very good chess processor in other words. Of course if you are referring to the socket 754 version, it is an A64 but with 64 bit disabled. That will be very fast.
