>I never said the forum was rotten. I said that it was "filled with hatred,

>my use of the word 'filled').
I would argue with that. You see 'filled' in my opinion should denominate more
than 3-4 members, and I don't see much beyond that.
You'll find Tim, who is declaredly homophobic to the extreme. If you actually
take the time to read some of his shorter rants on the subject you'll notice he
never ever advocates or implies any form of violence towards homosexuals. I tend
to view it as a form of illness. How else can one explain the massive amount of
time he must spend reading and writing (and thinking) on the subject?
Mind you, I completely ignore these threads of his, and readily read his posts
on other subjects.
You have Omid, who will reaffirm his views on the Israeli-Palestine problem at
every corner. Here too, I tend to overlook them, knowing his slant, and read his
posts on other subjects.
You have a 2-3 religious nuts preaching God, Jesus, and whatnot all the time.
Again, I tend to ignore this too. Some like to bait them and drag out long
arguments on creationism, etc. Since both parties obviously like blowing off
some steam, that works for me. The epitome of this would be Chandler Yergin and
Matthew Hull. No big deal though.
Finally, you have your average trolls on occasion in their different shades and
colors.
Barring the Pro-Isreal and Homophobic threads by the two aforementioned members,
and a possible troll by the name of Jack the Lad, let's see what is up there
thread-wise in terms of filling it with Hate, Discrimination and Racism:
Second man after Saddam Hussein is captured in Irak
Chechen terrorism has Russian roots
If You're a Terrorist or Terrorist Sympathizer Please Let Us Know..
For Ignoramus Posters--What Really Happened in the Russian School
(by Tim BTW - and not on H, D, or R)
Russian to commit Terrorism
Al-Arabiya GM: Muslims are main perpetrators of terrorism
Putin said terrorists had declared WAR against Russia
Note that the number of posts on terrorsim and Russia is unsurprising
considering the latest events. The news of the day is often the most debated
subject.
New Luther Movie...!
Why last hurricane is named Frances?
Latest TIME poll: Bush opens 11% lead over Kerry
Good Synopsis on the Chechen Debacle
Putin Will Now Crack Down Harder on Chechnya
in USA each year 300.000 people die because they are that FAT
Who really killed the Russian Children
Last Minute Promises?
(about the US elections BTW)
Will the USA help the Russians
Smoking kills!
The Economist = Female Genital Mutilation
a message of sympathy
Why would people vote for GWB the drunkdriver?
Do Arabs export terrorism?
(despite the title, it comments on the presence of arabs in the Russian school
tragedy and the presence of Chechen fighters in Afghanistan)
Modern Europe, Almighty Man and Almighty God
Harvard Magazine = The Hydrogen-Powered Future
Harvard Magazine = The Way We Eat Now
Harvard Magazine = The Benefits of Exercise and the Dangers of Sloth
how about hurricane FRANCES ?
Prayer to the Almighty
why democrats should vote for bush
World media shows Russian LIES
Did a plane hit the Pentagon, or a missile?
etc.
Well, I look and look but I really don't see the "filled with hate,
discrimination and racism". There are a few loud ones, but they really are very
few overall.
A quick overlook now shows the posts of non-radicals (IMO) such as Bruce
Moreland, Slater Wold, Ulrich Tuerke, Rolf Tueschen (who has changed quite a bit
for those with old grudges BTW), Dann Corbit, Stephen Ham, jorge luis borges,
Deepak Nityanandam, Graham Laight, Ingo Bauers, Thorsten Czub, Peter Berger,
Amir Ban, Duncan Roberts, José de Jesús García Ruvalcaba, Dan Andersson,
Dimitris Poulos, Axel Schumacher, Ed Panek, Hristo, myself, etc. And of course,
there are other members who I don't see just now, but are considered regulars
such as Ed Schroeder, Fernando Villegas, and others.
