Yes, on the majority of benchmarks the Northwood is faster at the same clock speed. On some benchmarks the situation is reversed. Once applciations start to use SSE3, we may find the Prescott benchmarking quicker. It also depends to some extent on the motherboard chipset as well. I saw one review of an SIS based board where the chipset seemed to have been optimised for prescott, and it showed in the benchmarks. The major issue with Prescott is heat and heavy power demands.
