There is one other issue which perhaps is being overlooked....

Historically (rgcc being a perfect example), computer chess has
been a lightening rod for vicious arguments, trolls, and name
calling.

CTF gave CCC a relief-valve so that arguments, which may have
denegrated this board, could be moved there so as not to ruin
the CCC landscape.

I personally think that CCC has been a much more tranquil, on-topic
environment since the CTF opened up.
