I believe that there are 2 Fritzes....
a) the 16 bit version now called 5.16
b) the 32 bit version now called 5.32

There is no FritzCD, Fritz 5.01, etc....there are only 2...16 bit
and 32 bit.  Each time the CBase people fix or enhance a product
(chess playing software), the new product is named the same.
All CBase did was rename the original Fritz, Fritz 5.16.

So when you buy and subsequently download the "patch" or what have
you, you have the most up to date version of one of the above.
This is not to say the previous version of Fritz might be
better (a slight tweak loses 10 Elo points), but then it would be
better to call F5 something like F5.9/98, F5.12/98, etc.
