Well, as this is probably still me who is being referred to here due to Steve's
slippery evil tongue, may I comment, Terry?

CTF is very much worthwhile for me . It is not a perfect place, not at all, and
I am well aware of the fact that probably very few read it like me.

OK, Michael A calls himself Jack Lad these days - it still triggers my ignore
filter perfectly well. I read a few of Tim's when his subject lines are
sufficiently interesting, but most of the time I don't even see them.

There are some incredible discussions going on at this place, that are much fun
for me. If most people saw this forum with my filter it would probably be not
offensive at all, for anyone.

Others will have other filters, but those who got addicted have a different
reading style than a casual reader either way.

I will only talk about computerchess here, and I am interested in this topic,
but CTF also adds quite some value for me. I will follow "my" threads, and the
thoughtful and interesting contributions I can find there. I already learned a
lot - the rest I just ignore.

Maintaining CTF is not about money anymore . This should have been a great
message to CCC members who don't like it. So I agree with those who call
anti-CTF campaigns just a sad excuse for not supporting CCC.

I can live with approaches like Steve B's . But several others sound like the
perfect hypocrites .

Peter
