I am an user of Saitek Travel Champion 2100 and Novag Sapphire II (both portable
chess computers). In fact, in my experiences, the saitek model doesnt have a
good end game performance. Sapphire II thanks its 128Kram for hash tables, is
very powerfull at the end game. But you must keep in mind about the middle
game/style as well. Let me tell you: I play only rapid chess (no more than
30minutes/game). My standard rating at ICC is around 2200. I think is easier to
play against Sapphire than TC. The estimated 2150 Sapphire II elo is just for
long games. In my 7 games match between both, the score was TC 4.5 / Sapphire
2.5. The PGN are available. Just ask me.
PS. TC programs made by Frans Morsch. Sapphire program based on WCHESS (Dave
Kittinger)
