Actually, as a social exercise the results are fascinating. I honestly never
imagined there were so many extremists here. Quite ironic when you consider the
nature of the accusations. :-) I know that hard-core conservatism runs strong in
the US, but it's still amazing to see it rear up and shout its terrible cry.

When I studied in Madison, Wisconsin, a small liberal oasis in an
ultra-conservative part of the US, a book store used to post how many counties
and schools various famous literary classics they had for sale were forbidden.
Great classics like "Catcher in the Rye" by Salinger (one of my all-time
favorite writers). I suppose I might have been less surprised in the 50s when it
came out, but even in the last gasps of the 20th century was it shown to what
lengths people would go.
