I think this is not the case.
I began to write chess programs in 1982, and it is only 15 years later that I
begin to find my most powerful ideas.
A good chess program is not achieved by a guy with good ideas. It can only be
written by a smart or average creative guy (or girl) and A LOT OF WORK. I see
myself as an average guy, rather slow minded to tell you the truth. But I am
keen, I'll never give up.
You have to be able to produce ideas every day, but ideas are nothing if you
don't TRY THEM. Most of the ideas, especially those that look bright at first,
are simply bullshit.
The good formula is: ideas every day + WORK.
If Genius has not improved, my guess is that Lang did not work full time on it.
