In this case I doubt it would help since the threat extension would get overwritten at the same time the non-mate score was written into the hash table. I was going to add this later after I'd convinced myself that the search was currently doing the "correct" thing - at the moment I'm convinced there's a subtle bug somewhere instead! andy.
