Now that the CCC-CTF Border Wars has been declared over... i think a comparison between this war and the Hyatt-Vincent Flame wars is perhaps in order.. the question arises..which was the "better " war? while i was a mere bystander in the HVF war i was a mild participant in the CCC-CTF war so my opinion might be a bit colored.. the VTF war was basically a personal war waged between two leading chess programmers on a public board.the fiercest fighting lasted about a week and was allowed to wage on without moderation until it fizzled out. while there were many who chimed in,the war was still primarily between two people this is what i call an "exclusionary war" every so often there are short-lived flare ups which quickly die down the winner seems to be Hyatt as he posts here still while Vincent seems to have kept away the CCC-CTF border wars however is what i call an "Inclusive war" many members of both boards were involved the war waged on un-moderated for about 3 weeks and was then declared over by moderation. much blood was shed with very little gained or lost. the winner seems to have been the CTF which will remain "as is" for sheer numbers, length of duration and the blood involved..i think the better war was...CCC-CTF Battle weary regards Steve
