Hi:

If all you want is a program that will beat you anyway and you are looking for
"value", you might as well get Rebel Decade 2.0 or Crafty. IMHO these are the
best FREE programs. In addition, there are dozens of shareware and public domain
programs, all of which will beat the pants off of most mortals -- you can find a
pretty good list at the GAmbitSoft website.

On the other hand, the price of the brand spanking new version of Fritz
(5.32)can be found for about $48, quite a reduction from the old version, and
you get over 12 engines included (all of the old fritzes plus a bunch of PD
engines) and the great interface and annotations, plus a nice clean database.
CM6000 is about $35-40 street. Now THAT's value. Anything inbetween is a waste.
