No I cont confirm that "Shredder 8 does NOT use" this tablebase. It is just that
fast that you cant see it.

If you take that position the engine is getting the information out of the
tablebases that every move is a draw. Then it starts calculating.

Check this position:

[D]3K4/4BB2/8/8/8/2b5/2k5/8 w - -

Dead draw! Some engine give a line like this:

5/02	 0:00 	 0.00 	1.Be8 (98)

and stop thinking.

Shredder is starting to calculate to give more lines.

To decide what is more valid is useless. To stop at ply 5 or to calculate to ply
30 without any progress is ...

If you take a position where a win or loss is possible this is of course
something different.

PS: In the Classic GUI I usually have the checkbox for the tablebase use of the
GUI switched off, because I nerly never use the orakel and switching off is
saving my memory resources.
