The question is if this test is objective I think there is no definite answer to the question which program is best tactically. In one test it can be Fritz and in another it can be CM6000. I found positions that chessmaster can solve and fritz cannot solve. r1b2rk1/pp1n2pp/2p1p3/3p1pNq/2PP1Pn1/3BP1P1/PP2N1Kb/R1BQ1R2 b - - 0 1 Here is one example: chessmaster can find Bg1 in 1 minute on my pentium200 when Fritz or Junior5 cannot solve this position. I found that chessmaster was also better than Fritz5 and other programs in solving some studies. Here is one example: 6k1/3K2qp/2N4P/3p4/8/4b3/p3Q3/8 w - - 0 1 chessmaster can solve it in something like one hour. Fritz5 could not solve it like other programs solution:Ne7+ Qxe7 Kxe7 a1Q Qg4+ Bg5+ Qxg5+ Kh8 Qe3 Qb2 Ke6 Uri
