Subject: Pro Deo Test

I am testing the great free engine Pro Deo 1.0 of Ed Schröder
in different ways at time control 60m+10s. First of all I started
with Nunn2-matches vs various engines but the results of Pro Deo
were not convincing, for details have a look at the following URL:

In the meantime the other tests, again at 60m+10s, have started
with Pro Deo's own book, learning enabled and the default parameters
by Ed Schröder except:

[My Queen = 101]
[Book Learner Expiration = OFF] * OFF | Two weeks | One week | One day | Always
[Clear Hash Table = Always] * Always | Never | PB only
[Time Control = 125] * 125
[Time Control Status = ALWAYS] * ALWAYS|PB ONLY
[Pruning = MISC_78] *

I like the parameter to clear hash table = always and so far Ed
Schröder's engine is doing very well:

16,5-16,5 PD vs Fritz 80026
12,5-12,5 PD vs Ruffian 2.1.0

anyway much better results in comparison with the Nunn2-
matches. Test will be continued but I am optimistic in
particular as Rudolf Klamert has excellent results too
vs Fritz8 and Junior8. And one further thing: with the
time contol parameter chosen, Pro Deo's time management
is indeed very well.

Kurt
