Within a personality the command is not recognized, thus it will do nothing. If you don't want PD to expire its learned values then make the change in REBEL.INI. It's recommended anyway not to touch the default setting wich is ONE WEEK. It's my understanding that book learning works optimal when the values are adjusted after some time, that the system slowly starts to forget what it has learned. The option does just that, the learned values aren't fully wiped, but adjusted. >[Clear Hash Table = Always] * Always | Never | PB only >[Time Control = 125] * 125 >[Time Control Status = ALWAYS] * ALWAYS|PB ONLY >[Pruning = MISC_78] * > >I like the parameter to clear hash table = always and so far Ed >Schröder's engine is doing very well: > >16,5-16,5 PD vs Fritz 80026 >12,5-12,5 PD vs Ruffian 2.1.0 > >anyway much better results in comparison with the Nunn2- >matches. And one further thing: with the >time contol parameter chosen, Pro Deo's time management >is indeed very well. I am in agreement that using 25% more time in blitz-games is an improvement, I am not so sure at all that this is the case at tournament levels such as 40/40 40/40. Anyway I will make sure that in the next version blitz and tournament levels are in sync. My best, Ed
