Your reminisence rings a small bell with me. I remember being attracted by the name 'Omikron'. The 'Omi' suggested 'Omega' or 'the last', maybe the best product... The '.mikron' suggested 'The Mekon', that stellar foe of the Eagle's Dan Dare comic strip ... or maybe some superior technology that did things small. Anyway, trapped by a chance coincidence of suggestions in an unguarded moment, I invested in the Bogul 5.50 ASB, only to be disappointed by falling short of utopia in the way your note described.
