Subject: Chessmaster 9000 rated vs non rated games help?

Whenever I play a computer opponent.. ex. Josh - rating 1200 in either the
Gameroom or the kids room in a NON-rated game it seems to play at 1200.. But
when I play the same computer opponent in a RATED game they seem to play at
least 300 points higher..  Has anyoneone else experienced this?  Why does this
happen?
