Yes, you do have to purchase engines like Hiarcs, Junior and Nimzo seperately.
Hiarcs 6.0 is a very strong positional engine, Junior is the reigning computer
chess world champion, and Nimzo '99 has been reported as LOSING strength from
Nimzo '98...

If you want the fastest searcher with a positional feel get Junior5 (it also
comes with Junior4.6 and some other engines). If you want a "knowledge program"
get Hiarcs (VERY positional and can get tactically sharp if it needs to).
Nimzo '99 has left alot to be desired, so I cannot recommend it..
