I think a large part of it's strength problems come from the Nimzo GUI which erases the "Opponent" selection in the engine parameters menu. There you can select -Fritz,Junior,Rebel and Other. Running the auto232 function to play games between the programs returns the setting to "Other". I believe that if allowed to run in the "Opponent mode" as intended may increase it's strength to where it should be. So if you don't use the auto232 for games you may get a better result. I've discovered that this problem is fixed in the Fritz 5.32 GUI so if you own the Fritz 5.32 you can run Nimzo99a under it and probably get better results. Also since the auto232 works better under Fritz 5.32 the "Hash Learning" function also works with Nimzo 99a since there are no more abnormal terminations of the program. I hate saying all this because it sounds like an ad for Fritz 5.32 and Nimzo99a together. I think Chessbase should fix the Nimzo GUI and also the Junior 5 GUI so they work exactly like the Fritz 5.32 GUI. Jim Walker
