Thanks a lot for all the good advice! The easiest solution to find the move generator bug seems to implement divide into my chess engine and compare the output with Sharper. If that doesn't work (I'm pretty sure it will, though) I will modify crafty (but digging in sources of other chess engines is always a bit dangerous ...) in order to create files with all the possible moves to certain depth sort them and then do a diff on my move list and the one of crafty.
