You should be in force mode so you'll just make moves given. Only when WinBoard sends 'go' should you switch to the mode when you start moving when the opponent's move is received. In Arena / ChessMaster you can be sent a sequence of move commands up-front if you have it set up so that their books are used and then you are sent a 'go' when you should finally move. Anyway, I use a ForceMode variable. When this is set I just respond to moves / undos by making or unmaking the move and waiting. When I receive 'go' I make a move and then enter a state where I wait for a move, make one, wait ... Ponder obviously complicates that a little. Andy. Andy.
