hi Bryan >Novag have just released a new LCD chess computer named the 'Star Ruby' >Very similar to the 'Star Sapphire' but with a weaker program. >Graphics still very poor......will Novag never learn? the better Question is..will the Star Ruby learn? apparently not, as the "learning feature" has been removed from the SS for the SR the book looks much smaller as well . battery life longer ,but Novag claims 30+ hours for the SS on a standard pair of batteries which is simply a gross overstatement(more like 8-10 hrs.) ,as is the rating estimate of 2500 USCF.(more like 2300 USCF or 2150 Elo) a comparison of the SS and SR can be found here: http://www.novag.com/Web%202004/ENGLISH%202004/table-E.htm however, and perhaps the most important consideration.. the color of the casing seems to be very nice..Ruby Red..and..well.. that works for me! will buy one :) thanks for the heads up! Best Steve
