Hi George,
you've made a good point. The reasons for my decision were that originally I'd
only intended for CM10th Creep to play in the final, but the strong performance
of CM9000 Judge II prompted me to include CM9000 Alliance (hopefully even
stronger) also.
SOS 4 was actually the unlucky engine, finishing ahead of both Gandalf 5.1 and
Delfi 4.5 before the games were rerun. Gandalf 5.1 was the only engine I had
problems with (time issues), so I was inclined to leave it out of the final due
to this.
I decided to go with 12 engines for the final as 44 rounds at 40 in 120 will
take a long time as is. 14 engines meant 52 rounds and I'm not sure I could face
this!
Pharaon 3.00 has had excellent results to date in Olivier's Chess Waes
tournament at longer time controls and actually leads after 9 rounds against all
the top programs, so I felt that there would be a lot of interest in a further
showing before its release.

CM9000 Alliance settings are based on a combination of modified R1, Judge II and
Assassin settings, so Wilhelm and myself are the creators.

P=1.0
N=3.2
B=3.2
R=5.3
Q=9.8 (own=9.9)

CC=115
Mob=140
KS=170
PP=135
PW=140

Selectivity=12
AD=0
MP=0

David Dahlem provided me with a copy of the CM8000 book which had been
painstakingly converterted move by move into the correct format for use under
Chessbase.

Me too George, me too!
I will post the games in text format round by round and hopefully Kurt might
allow the tournament to be hosted on his website too.

Regards, Graham.
