Well, I am just implementing something like a deescalation search in Smirf. Quiescence search has the weakness that it is not looking for end of positional combinations but only for tactical one. That would lead to the fact that the end leafs of the search tree will have randomly distributed weaknesses or strengths in positional view. But finally you only can select between goals you would define and select at the and of your search tree. And if you have no to be defined positional stable situations there, it is hard to reach such a goal. Reinhard.
