Hi >Will there be enough of a speed increase to justify the money? The 2400+ has a real clock speed of 2000MHz. The XP3200+ has 2200MHz (plus higher speed for the front side bus - which is mostly uninteresting for chess. But to gain that small advantage you have to buy new memory too). They have two different cores with 256kB cache and 512kB Cache which may(!) give another 3% difference. AMD changed the rating parameters in between these two CPUs - if you realy compare it to a P4 and chess they where right to do so, or the old XP2400+ should have a new rating of 2700+. If you are lucky you have 15% difference in speed - to decide if that is enough to justify the money is on you. Bye Ingo
