I'm favor of membership fees if the fee can be kept to around $50 per year.
That would require close to 90 paying members.  If we don't have 90 paying
members, then perhaps the board is not worth the time , effort etc.

I agree with Steve that perhaps the forum did not bring any additional revenues
to CCC.  One, we have the total demise of the dedicated chess computer niche.
So much good chess software is free - _ Pro Deo, Crafty, Ruffian (1.0.x
versions) Arena, Winboard - that to certian extent it has become commoditized -
lowest price wins. For meyself personally, I love computer chess -- but one of
the reasons I love it so much is I can go weeks enjoying without spending a dime
-- just my time.

It's not quite time to write the obituary of CCC - but we are geting closer.
