Indeed. This game copies the moves all the way up to 21.b3 from Ponomariov-Adams
in the SuperGM tournament in 2002 which White also won. Adams played 21...Nxe4
and Crafty played 21...cxb3.

So did Black really go wrong in the opening, or were both of these games lost
later? Analysis of the position after 21.b3 shows Black with a small advantage
(CM9_SKR shows 21...Rac8 with a score of -0.15 for Black):
