yes, and they are quite unnecessary. a web hosting service includes these
expenses. ICD chess is obviously not a web hosting company, so if they do this,
it is very expensive because, as steve said before, supporting 1 or 2 or N
message boards / servers gives practically the same cost.

so why not get something like this: http://www.dot5hosting.com/virtual.php
that's 20$ a month. includes more or less anything you could wish, including cgi
and PHP which you might want to run a forum.

of course, but i was talking about such a web hosting service, not a home based
service.
