The thing that makes CCC fun is all the good members who have distinct computer
chess interests/specialization (eg. programmers (all kinds!), testers, test
position posters, cc amateurs, cc pros). I think it's all the "small" but
useful contributions from the many members that makes CCC interesting.

If CCC only has members who always answer posts but do not generally make posts
of their own, then CCC will have little activity = uninteresting. Usually CCC is
full of posts by cc amateurs with good questions or posts by engine
testers--that is the true CCC.

How much is 50$ worth to the occasional poster with specialization? -- I don't
know, but I'm thinking they have a larger life outside of CCC and will use the
money on something else.
