Go up one level in this thread

Hi Alessandro:

My engine (like kiwi) is green. My book is pretty small and shallow, but wide.
I'm pleased with that at this stage. I don't worry whether it's "style" is
better suited to a Pirc, QGD or whatever. It's too green to have a "style". I
tried to set up the book so it doesn't play lines that are pure crap, but beyond
that I don't care what it plays. I want it to be able to play 30, 50 or 100
games with engine xyz without having to go through each one to see how many
duplicates there are. My recommendation to you would be to reduce the depth
(maybe 15 ply) and increase the width (maybe 3 games min). Won't be the best
for playing strength but I think will be good for development.

Now the bad news. You may have to stop working on Kiwi. I just integrated your
input thread code in Bruja and it works like a charm. I second all that Ross
said earlier. Now, like Uri, I'd be most interested in a PGN reader. You keep
developing and sharing quality routines with your (growing) fan club and you're
not going to have any time for engine development :)

Best
Dan H
