I got this in a computer tech newsletter recently. Since this is freeware I'll try it out. "Got an XP system with 256MB or more of RAM? Then improve performance with this free utility that will reset your system disk caching parameters. I tried it on an un-tweaked XP system with 512MB of RAM and had no doubt that the system was zippier after the adjustment. There's nothing here that can't be done by a bit of registry tweaking but pushing a few buttons is safer and way easier. Freeware, 49KB." http://techrepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/netadmin/tools_exe/DiskCacheAdjuster.zip
