Maybe they used computer but did not use it for enough time or did not use it in the right position or both. Maybe the last position that they analyzed with computer was the position before 24.Qxe2 and when the program gave convincing score for 24.Qxe2 with the line 24.Qxe2 Bxe2 25.bxa6 they decided that the line was winning for white and decided that they need to learn other lines and have no more time for that line because they wanted to help kramnik to learn more lines than Leko.
