Well, they already _have_ changed this, but in exactly _this_ way, that it´s
no longer possible. For earlier engines as Fritz6 (and even Fritz7 IIRC) you
simply could change the internal name with a hexeditor.
But there have been lots of faked engines around the internet in the past (I
remember several Hiarcs8/9 engines, which were actually old patched Hiarcs7),
so probably _this_ was the reason for their decision.
And I´m quite sure, they won´t change this back again, even if lots of their
customers would ask for.
