cant help you with the Staid Inc. reference
i have both Compuchess computers that were released
the Compuchess and the Compuchess Second Edition
both were released by DataCash Systems

the year was 1977 not 1976
the CC1 has the ranks and files reversed in error..
so along the left hand side of the unit you will see the letters a..h
and along the bottom...1-8
in addition the move input system is also reversed..so d2-d4 is entered as..
4b-4d..the computer will reply with the same backward notation for its move.

this was corrected with the CC3
