Christophe's stated position has long been that not enough users have SMP machines for this to be a priority for him, but every Pentium with HyperThreading needs a multi-threaded engine to take advantage of this feature, and of course the new dual cores coming out next year will need SMP support also. I hope he reconsiders at some point.
