Yes.

Warning: my checkers (*) knowledge is mostly from reading _One Jump Ahead_, so
don't take the following as definitive. In competitive checkers the opening
three moves (two Black, one White) are chosen by ballot in order to prevent the
players drawing too easily. In the White Doctor opening the Black moves selected
are not good, leaving Black in a weak position from the outset.

I believe that the White Doctor is one of the more critical openings for Black,
so that sounds plausible. I guess we'll find out in a few years, or less.

(*) Or "draughts" for us Brits, but I'll stick to "checkers" to avoid confusion
with International (10x10) draughts.
