>Do we afraid of something? I think exaclty that is the problem. Humans can accept that a machine is physicly stronger, faster, more persistant than themselfs because in their whole life they had the experience that someone was stronger, faster or more persistant. To accept that a machine is better in an intelectual task is much harder to commit. Of course there is usualy someone smarter than oneself but this is excused usually with something like: But I can run faster or luck or whatever. Have you ever seen someone admiting: "This one guy is intelectualy better than I am"? Ok, there are such people but then you have the "human" habbit of accepting the man as "generous" or "wise" within the socitey which is giving positiv feedback to the "looser". The problem is that computer are not giving this credit to their opponents. (Or have you ever heard after a win of a computer the computer saying: Really great play and I was just lucky today! Lets have a beer!) Why arent there some races between humans and horses with bound legs? Noone is really interested in such a thing. I still insist in what was valid for the last 50 years. A computer should give all it can! Bye Ingo
