Hi Rick

b6 is not the best move but it is an OK move. CM9 reckons the top 3 moves are :

Time	Depth	Score	Positions	Moves
1:17	2/11	1.85	14588397	1.Ne5 Rf6 2.Bg5 Be8 3.f3 Qxb3 4.axb3
					Re6 5.fxe4 h6 6.Bxe7 Rxe7 7.exf5
					Bxb5
0:41	1/10	1.02	7743672 1.b6 axb6 2.Ne5 Re8 3.Nxg6 Nxg6
					4.Rb1 Qf6 5.Bd2 f4
0:50	1/10	0.65	9389737 1.Rb1 Rd8 2.Ne5 Qxb3 3.Rxb3 Re6
					4.c4 Be8 5.Bb2 Ng6

Taking 16 Million nodes to get to depth 9 does sound too high. My program is
very weak compared to lots of other engines in the amount of nodes it needs to
get to depth n. For this position it need 1.2 million, so your figure does sound
like something is wacked certainly for this position anyways.
