I was debating with fellow board members about the significance of Bilbao, WCCC2004 and other tournaments. So I'm asking you people, so I can see it all in one thread, what makes you buy your programs? I'm going to list a few things and hopefully you can pick one of them, or just tell me in words. a) The program wins or comes 2 place in a WCCC or other 'high end' computer tournament. b) The program defeats a grandmaster in a series of games c) The program has a good past history of always increasing its elo relative to SSDF by a significant amount d) You enjoyed other versions of the program and can only hope that future versions are just as enjoyable e) You talked to the programmer or tester of the program and can only hope that his or her boasting turns out to be true. f) A popular person in this 'community' recommends it. g) Its distributer/sponsor/owner h) Its price. if i missed one, let me know! so what makes you buy a program
