Does it depend on some active/open base or where does this >information come from? > It comes from the direct tree files eval.elm and eval.hsh. These are located in the CA root directory. When you install CA, these files come 'preloaded' with a whole bunch of master evals. When you are viewing a game, if you right-click over a move in the tree (shown below the board), you will be given an opportunity to override the preloaded eval with your own. Just select "evaluate". The menu choice may be slightly different for a plain vanilla tree view. Best, Bob
