Henry, I checked the code I sent you, and it performs flawlessly on the position you show in your message. I think the problem must be somewhere in your chess program. Another possibility is that it has something to do with the compiler you use. I never tried it with Delphi 5.0. The Borland compilers are known to be somewhat flaky, so everything is possible.
