Hi all ! I'm fairly new to chess, so please excuse me if my question is highly classical and has been answered elsewhere. I have a lot of fun trying to solve chess problems, but I prefer to work on situations which arose in real games and find that 'mate in x' are often fairly artificial. I was able to find various resources of problems on the net but I noticed that the question is always to find a winning move. Do you know where I could find a 'mixed' set of problems where the best move sometimes leads to a win and sometimes 'only' to avoid immediate defeat. It would be ideal if the problem definition did not mention whether the best move leads to a win or not. Unfortunately, due to my poor level, I could not do without the solutions... Thanks for any help. Gaetan
