Hi Don: Such as you present the case, you have a point. I wonder, nevertheless, if the fact that there is a component of artistry in some endeavour is enough to qualify the task in itself as art. If you are writting a commercial letter you have also many ways to tell the guy you are going to purchase 100 umbrellas, but surely is not poetry. Anyway, I cannot discard enterily some artistic aspect in any activity. And of course I talk from my ignorance. The point is: whcih is the main purpose of an activity? To produce an estetic impression or not? That's the clue. Poetry is oriented to that, the letter about umbrellas not, even if well written. Fernando
