Hmm, I wonder if that feature was intentional.

I'm sorry to see that Excalibur stopped development on their robotic player.  I
think there would eb a decent market for such an item.

As for lumbering, an industrial robotic arm could probably complete a move in
under two seconds.  But as the arm would be relatively more massive and with
much higher torque than a hobbiest arm, there could be liability issues: the arm
might accidentially crush a human opponent's finger.  A signed waiver before the
game would be prudent.

Who knows?  Perhaps the DGT team might consider a robotic arm as an option for
their piece sensory board.  If people are willing to pay US$400 for the board,
they might pay just as much (or more) for an arm to go with it.
