Thanks for the detailed reply Steven!

If you wouldn't mind, here's another question: what if we didn't need the
camera? What if the system had its own table and pieces so that the engine would
recognize them by 'location', pretty much like the Phantom models did (Milton
Bradley/Fidelity)? Would that make the system a lot less complex/less costly or
really not that much? (Would you be using stepper motors?)
