Actually, I suspect that Aristarch 4.5 keeps its learning, at least part of the
time, despite turning it off. I used to use it as a blitz testing partner, but
was frustrated by the constantly changing replies to the Nunn positions (which
should be fairly consistent). I went out of my way to make sure the learning was
off, and to try and erase the learning files (which I never could find), but had
no luck, and the opening replies continued to change, so I stopped using it.

I've noticed this too, as I'm sure have others who build and test different
settings, and my solution/workaround has been to copy my settings into the
Rebel.Eng, which it never has problems loading correctly. Ex:
[Personality = Rebel.ENG] * Search & Destroy v6.5 (October 2004)
I keep a copy of each of my settings in separate .eng files, but when I want to
switch (using a CB interface), I copy the contents to the Rebel.Eng file, switch
engines to another (usually Ruffian as it is next in alphabetical order), and
then back to PD so it loads the new settings.
