The AMD Athlon 64 3500+ is 2.2GHZ
In computer chess, frequency is practically the only thing that counts.

With an adequate mainboard, you should get around 8-9% improvement with the
2.4GHz chip

Of course, all this is without overclocking. If overclocking is intended, some
chips have more potential than others.
