The resulting problem is due to the fact that 5-man tables start being accessed with 12-14 pieces on the board (with my moderate speed machine, more pieces on the board with fast machines). The likelihood of ep with only 5 pieces is practically nil, but ep does occur with 12-14 pieces on the board.
