I have the Star Sapphire pre LCD model so am not familiar with the menu system
you are referring to.

Batteries seem to be a constant problem and I have invested in the 15 minute
rechargeable ones.  At least when the battery starts getting low I can be up and
running within 15 minutes even if I forgot to charge the 2nd set.

I'll let you know my impressions of the LCD Star Ruby when I get it.
